I refuse to believe that it is already September of 2015. I swear it was just yesterday when I was sitting down and making New Years resolutions and enjoying the snowy winter weather! Either way, I have not forgotten about my goals, especially those related to health and fitness. I am proud to say that so far this year I have worked out more than I did all of last year which is still not a lot, but is definitely an accomplishment for me. Although, I do want to slim down for vain reasons, my main driving motivation is a desire to take care of myself and my body. I’m not trying to sit down and count every calorie I intake or burn, but I do try to watch what I’m eating and try to be active at least once a day.
For the past few weeks, I’ve been trying out a virtual training program called 3S Fitness. It’s literally like having a personal trainer at your fingertips all the time. My trainer Abby sent me a personalized meal plan after I described my current physical stats and goals as well as sending over some before pictures. Then through the app Trainerize (you sign up with your 3S account) she sets up the workouts that I need to do for each day. I currently don’t have access to a gym, so she created an exercise plan for which I only need to use hand weights and occasionally a bench. And, let me tell you, the workouts are tough. I made my boyfriend do a few with me and I actually held my own better than he did!
3S Fitness is unique in that they stress the importance of community through their weekly conference calls and interactive Facebook group. People share their struggles as well as triumphs throughout the program and Abby is always leaving encouraging notes and messages to everyone there.
For me, my favorite thing about this program is the convenience of it. I have my workouts on the app on my phone at all times, which allows me to just follow along wherever I am. The meal plan are also further customizable to your dietary needs and preferences. Knowing that I also have access to Abby (she gives you her phone number for texting) whenever I need her is also reassuring and motivating.
I don’t think signing up for a fitness plan is absolutely necessary when trying to achieve your health goals, but I can see why it is a huge help. Life gets too busy sometimes to plan out your meals and even what workouts you do at the gym, which is where this program will help the most. Although I was invited to try out the program for a complimentary month, the normal $50 a month fee is a small price to pay to see and feel actual results in your body. You also pay month-to-month, so you can cancel the program whenever you need. 3S Fitness was kind enough to give me a discount code to share with all of you!
