Goal planning is an essential part of “planning” for me. Everything I plan for each day is to help me achieve my goals, both big and small. However, sometimes, curating your own ringed planner or finding the perfect bound planner to fit your goal planning can turn you off from the whole idea from the beginning. With this planner from Tess Elle Design, the planning is done for you, and all you need to do is work on your goals.
The Tess Elle Weekly Planner is definitely not your typical planner. As you can see, it is constructed more as a book and has large 8″x10″ size amazing quality paper. The front of the planner is covered with motivational quotes to start everyday of your year on a positive note. The best part is that the contents of this planner are simple, yet very effective.
Goal planning is a major focus of this planner. Before the actual monthly and weekly views, there is a section for you to plan your goals and set your priorities for the year. Tess herself even included her own example so that you can be specific about what you want to achieve this year.
The monthly and weekly views for each month are the same with the weekly view having equal columns for each day, Monday through Sunday, with another equal-sized column for notes. There is a yearly goal recap for 2015 and new goal setting for 2016 right before the month of January 2016 with 6 pages of notes and 4 pages for more detailed goal planning at the back of the planner.
Because of it’s simplicity, I think this planner really reminds you to focus on yourself and how you want to grow in the future. The color scheme is absolutely beautiful and I love that it is still business-appropriate. The large pages are super luxurious and each page is color printed. Below is a mock planner spread for this week (because, obviously, I have to decorate every planner I get)!
The first thing I did to use this planner effectively, was to make a to-do list for my week, which I do every week no matter which planner I happen to be using. From there, I added in appointments that I knew were happening to block off those times in the planner. Then at the start of each day, I look at my to-do list, then actually schedule the things I need to do into my day. This is imperative because it makes it a real part of your day that you need to accomplish. As you can see, the planner still looks clean (and cute!), but also very functional.
For someone like me who can get lost on the internet for hours, planning my to-do’s that coincide with my larger goals actually help me finish them. I think this planner would be an amazing time management planner, fitness planner or a great planner for work. As you can see in my spread, it also works amazingly well as an everyday personal planner.
The Tess Elle 2015-2016 Weekly Planner runs from July 2015 to July 2016 and retails for $42. It also comes with a planner band in four different colors that acts as a page marker.
