More so than actual makeup, I am obsessed with splurging on skincare. Of course, I love when my eyeliner or brows are on point, but I think that if my skin is taken care of and can look good without any foundation or concealer, that looks and feels better than caking my face in an attempt to look flawless. Being Korean, I can definitely vouch for the widespread rumors that Korean skincare is super effective. My skin is not actually very sensitive or problematic, but using some of these products definitely solve some of my occasional little issues.
Confession #2: the Petite Bunny Gloss Bar and the Mini Pet Hand Cream were purely bought because…look how cute… The Gloss Bar is basically like a tinted lip balm and the little bear pot is a lightly scented lotion. Nothing spectacular besides the amazingly adorable packaging.
Some of my favorite Korean skincare items are the inexpensive face masks that are available in most Asian cosmetics stores or even in Asian grocery stores! My face masks were $2 each and are very saturated (kinda slimy in a good way) cloth masks that are soaked in moisturizing and revitalizing serums. I got the ones pictured (as well as the samples) from The Face Shop. I actually love the generous samples they provided and plan on purchasing the cleanser soon! I use one mask about once a week when I want to treat myself.
If you’re ever in New York City, I highly suggest checking out the Tony Moly store and The Face Shop on 32nd street and just bask in all the cuteness. The Pocket Bunny Sleek Mist and the funny looking Lovely Lip Patch were both from Tony Moly and are more functional than at first glance. The Bunny Mist is great for hydrating my face when I feel too cake-y or even when I just want a refreshing burst of fruity scents. I haven’t tried the lip patch/mask yet, but I’m excited to walk around with huge pink lips while they get moisturized and smooth.
Confession #3: A lot of the makeup and skincare items I buy are based heavily on packaging 🙂 I’m eyeing this gorgeous YSL face balm (no idea what it does) and this gorgeous eye shadow palette (definitely don’t need any more eyeshadows).
What makeup goodies are you lusting after? Would love to know what products you like with pretty packaging as well!
