Have you forgotten me yet? It has been a while (about 5 months…) since my last post, but I am excited to be back. I started a new full-time job at the end of February which is why the blog/Instagram/YouTube posts have kind of been lacking. I am definitely not complaining because I had been searching for a job for some time and was glad to get one, but I missed sharing and being creative on my social media platforms. It has been a hectic, tiring, but fun first six months of 2017 and I am looking forward to making the rest of the year even better than before.
I have already traveled a few times this year and have a couple more amazing trips already planned out. My visit to Chicago with my boyfriend definitely stands out in my memory and I can’t wait to go back for some more deep dish pizza. I think that traveling to cool, “Instagrammable” locations is too over-hyped these days, so I’ve been reminding myself not to be concerned with that. Instead, I try to make the most of my trips anywhere, whether it’s a new restaurant five minutes away, or a new city I haven’t been to before and even try to keep my phone away so that I can really live in the moment.
I am so proud that for the first part of this year I got to serve as part of the amazing The Planner Society PR team and was able to play with gorgeous planner and crafting bits that I honestly don’t normally use. If you are interested in the monthly subscription kit or the projects I have made with the kits, you can go to their website for more info and check out their YouTube channel for inspiration. As I’ve mentioned, I actually had less time for crafting and creative things this first half of the year because of the lack of daylight I have when I come home from my 9-5. I am trying to be better about not feeling self-conscious about posting what I want to post and not being too lazy on the weekends to create content which I really do love to do.
My word for this year is intentional and it is with that thought that I have been trying to do everything in my life. I am trying to be more intentional with my health choices to achieve a stronger life and not just a more attractive one and so far I have even worked out more this first half of the year than I have in the past year combined. I am trying to be more intentional with my spending and saving habits and have a goal to pay off my student loan debts within 2 years. I think that once you start to live your life with meaning and intention, everything starts to click and fall into place. So, for the rest of the year (and the rest of my life), I hope to live with purpose and meaning.
I urge you all to sit down and think about the progress you’ve made in these first months of 2017 and reconsider and plan out your goals for the remainder of the year. I have a good feeling that the rest of the year holds even greater successes and happiness.
